RAMON-02 radiometer of radon and radon progeny is designed for the rapid determination of equivalent equilibrium volumetric activity (EEVA) of radon Rn-222, the amount of “hidden energy” of radon progeny and thoron Rn-220 progeny, the volumetric activity of RaA, RaB and RaC progeny and the possibility of spectrometric determination of thoron EEVA in the air, indoors and in the open area during radiochemical, geological and radio-environmental inspections. RAMON-RADON-01 is designed to measure the volumetric activity (VA) of radon Rn-222 in different media such as air, water, soil, the flow of radon from different surfaces (exhalations). RAMON-02 is combined with RAMON-RADON-01 in a single housing.

The radiometer is a portable instrument for measuring radon EEVA and VA in various media.
Radon EEVA measurements come from the catching of progeny aerosols on type AFA-RSP-10 aerosol filters and measurement of the activity of RaA and RaC alpha emitters. The volumetric activity of short-lived progeny is calculated according to formulas that take into account the accumulation and disintegration of progeny, both at the sampling stage and when measuring the sample’s activity.
The principle of measuring radon’s VA is based on the use of a circulation method of transferring radon together with air from the sample volume to the measuring chamber. The measurement process is based on the electrostatic deposition of radon progeny to the surface of the target filter and the subsequent registration of alpha radiation.
The radiometer is designed to operate in semi-automatic mode.
